Spring sprung upon us so fast that the team at bingo HQ can barely believe that winter is finally over! The sun officially has his hat on and spring has well and truly arrived which means we can go out of the house without needing a portable hot water bottle!
Our number one priority over the Easter period is to receive as many chocolate eggs as possible and enjoy them with a nice cuppa and a game of online bingo – they make an eggecellent treat! (Sorry, we couldn’t resist). Chocolate and Easter go hand in hand, so why not make your first Day Out one that is filled with chocolately goodness?
Chocolate
As the unquestionable home of chocolate in the UK, Cadbury World is the best day out for chocoholics and kids who like a chocolately treat or two. The attraction is a fantastic day out for all the family, you’ll see where chocolate originates, how Cadbury came to life, and the whole chocolate making process. What’s more, you’ll be able to witness the marvel that is virtual chocolate rain!
Over the Easter period, Cadbury World will be offering all sorts of additional attractions to keep kids entertained for hours including drangonfly stilt walkers, face painters and puppet shows. You’ll also be able to follow an Easter trail and watch as hand-made Easter goodies are crafted out of chocolate. We’d advise you to book before you go by visiting the Cadbury World website.
Rabbits
Rabbits have long featured as an element of Easter celebrations and that is probably down to the legend that is the Easter Bunny. This mythical rabbit has featured in legend stemming back to the early 1800’s and he’s obviously one of our favourite rabbits. If we had a league of favourite rabbits though, there would be a close competition between the Easter Bunny and the ever so lovable Peter Rabbit.
Peter Rabbit is one of the most loved children’s characters of all time and if your kids are a fan of Peter and his friends, why not take them to the World of Beatrix Potter in Cumbria? This attraction allows you to visit all the wonderful characters in Beatrix Potter’s books, including Peter Rabbit, Mrs Tiggywinkle and Jemima Puddleduck. All 23 of the stories are brought to life at this fantastic exhibit which is great for kids and adults alike.
Eggs
Easter wouldn’t be Easter without eggs. Whether they’re hard boiled, decorated to look like a bingo ball, scrambled or chocolate (just in case you didn’t pick up on what we mentioned earlier, chocolate eggs are our personal preference), eggs simply say Easter. One Easter tradition that has firmly kept its place in the UK is the tradition of egg rolling.
Get the family together for a mass egg-decorating session. Kids will love drawing pretty patterns on hardboiled eggs and customising them to make them their own. Once decorated, take a picnic to the highest hill top around and roll those eggs! The winner is the person whose egg travels the furthest! It’s a cheap, fun day out and you can conduct multiple egg rolling races if you fancy!
Enjoy Springtime but don’t forget that bingo is always here waiting for you when you return!
