Here in the UK, there are so many places to see animals being well cared for but we couldn’t possibly fit them all here. Instead, the team at bingo HQ have picked our five favourite places to see some amazing species and enjoy a fantastic day out with all the family. As winter is finally drawing to a close, it’s about time you got out of the house!
A day out to the zoo or a wildlife park is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Whether you’ve got small children or teenagers, or even if they’ve flown the nest altogether, this kind of day out will suit any animal lover!
Edinburgh Zoo is Scotland’s largest wildlife attraction and is home to more than 1,000 animals, some very small and some very large! At the zoo you should expect the unexpected; no two days are ever the same when it comes to visiting animals! When you visit the Zoo, it’s worthwhile to take a peek at Rainbow Landings where you can have a gander at some rainbow lorikeet birds, they are as beautiful as their name implies and look as though they’ve been painted with all the colours of the rainbow!
Knowsley Safari Park opened in 1971 and since then has attracted thousands upon thousands of visitors every year. The park was unique in its approach to animal conservation; allowing animals to roam free in large paddocks whilst visitors drove through and took a peek into the lives of animals such as Lions, Elephants, Giraffes and, always a crowd pleaser, the Monkeys.
When visiting Knowsley, you should be aware that the Monkey’s may climb on your car and perhaps scratch it a little. If you want to avoid this possibility, you can view the Monkey Jungle at a safe distance. It’s a fantastic fun day out for all the family and gives you a unique opportunity to see animals in something close a natural environment.
If you want to see a serious amount of animals, head to Chester Zoo because you’ll find a whopping 400 species and 7,000 animals! Chester, like all of the zoos in the UK, is dedicated to conservation. The zoo is a place where awareness about the issues facing animals across the globe is constantly being raised. By protecting endangered species, the zoo can help to save animals from extinction, so if that’s not a reason to visit a zoo full of exciting animals, the team at bingo HQ just don’t know what is!
Over in good old Skeggy, you’ll find a fantastic seal sanctuary. Seal’s are always a winner with kids and adults alike because they are such friendly creatures! At the sanctuary, you’ll find both baby and adult seals who have been rescued. The centre is dedicated to rescuing abandoned baby seals and where possible returns them to the wild. You’ll be able to experience the dinnertime rush at the Sanctuary, when the penguins and seals have feeding time! It’s a great experience for all the family, so if you’re taking an Easter break to Skegness, why not visit?
Whether you live in London, or you’re planning a trip there, a day out to London Zoo is a must. There’s always something new going on with all the different species of animals and the number of residents is growing all the time! Visit the park over Easter and kids will be able to benefit from the new ‘Animal Adventure’ section. In this area, children can climb up into the treetops, explore underground tunnels, splash in water and touch animals in the grooming area. It’s a real adventure at London Zoo, so why not take a trip there today!
A day out with the family can be really exhausting, so why not grab yourself a cuppa and get back to playing online bingo?
