The festive period is a time for families to come together, indulge in scrumptious food and drink and do the whole present’s thing too. The most important thing for families and friends during the festive period is catching up and spending quality time together. What better way to do this than to get out of the house and get into the Christmas spirit?
Here at Littlewoods Bingo, we’ve found some of the country’s best festive hotspots, (or should we say coldspots!) where you can spend a Christmassy day out!
Hyde Park, London: 22nd November 2008 – 4th January 2009
This yearly festival is truly a winter wonderland, with attractions for all the family. It’s free to enter; you only buy tokens for the rides you want to go on. This year, the festival will be home to the biggest ice skating rink in London, the enormous 53 metre Giant Wheel, tobogganing and the amazing bungee dome!
There are many other traditional and modern Christmas attractions to see, and of course, Father Christmas will be there too! Santa is free to visit and the very good boys and girls might just get a present! Join in with the magical atmosphere in London at Christmastime.
Warwick Castle: 6th December 2008 – 4th January 2009
Enjoy an enchanted Christmas experience at Warwick Castle. You’ll be dazzled by the beautiful 600 Christmas tree forest which is interwoven with amazing ice sculptures and magical creatures. Children will love following the trail to the Wishing Tree and they might just find Father Christmas at the end!
Once you’ve experienced the wonder of the outdoor activities, go inside the castle to warm up and take the children to listen to some Christmas stories and fairytales. You’ll see the castle in all its glory as it is decorated for Christmas with a staggering 25 foot Christmas tree.
Cardiff, 16th November 2008 to 4th January 2009
Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland is a brilliant place to give your children their first ice skating experience. The open air ice skating rink is the perfect place to learn to skate whether you are 3 or 93! If it’s your first experience on the ice, you’ll be assured that it’s a safe and fantastic place to learn – we all wobble or fall over on our first time!
The Wonderland is also a brilliant place to sit back, relax and enjoy a lovely cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine as you watch the children on the traditional Christmas rides such as the carousel.
Snowdome – Tamworth: 28th November 2008 – 31st December 2008
If you haven’t experienced the wonder of the Snowdome in Tamworth, there is no better time to visit than Christmas time!
The real, indoor snow slope is a place for all the family to slide around in real snow! At the Winter Wonderland you’ll be able to go tobogganing or have a game of snowballs! When we get snow in this country, there’s hardly ever enough to make a snowman, but at the Snowdome you can make your very own snowman or snow angel!
Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Santa and his reindeer. At the Snowdome; children can meet Santa and his reindeer in the Christmas courtyard. This year, Santa’s brought along another friend too, one of our childhood favourites, the one and only Sooty! For a truly magical Christmas experience, head to Tamworth’s Snowdome, and you’ll really have a white Christmas!
We’re sure these days out will put you in the Christmas spirit; you’ll be singing ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’ all the way home. When you get home, why not share some of that bingo joy with our online community when you play bingo online!
