Bingo Days Out

Halloween Half Term

It seems like only yesterday you were packing off the children to school at the beginning of September doesn’t it? Time flies when you’re having fun, or as we like to say, time flies when you’re playing bingo online!

As time has whizzed past, the October half term has crept up on you and you’ve got to think of things to do to keep the little ones entertained!

Luckily for you, your pals at Littlewoods Bingo have scoured the country and found the best activities for a fantastic Halloween Half term! The spooky holiday comes along slap bang in the middle of half term, so we’ve found some spooky themed events going on near you!

Eureka! Halifax

The Eureka! museum in Halifax has been a winner in the kids’ activities stakes for many years, but this half term the fantastic museum is hosting a School for Witches and Wizards.

The event runs from 4th-31st October. There will be owl and falconry displays, magic shows and the chance to make your own magic lanterns and pointy wizard or witch hats!

There will also be a special evening event on the 31st October, All Hallows Eve itself, called ‘The Witching Hour’, where you’ll encounter spooky trails and slime making!

Haunted Halloween

Various Castles across the U.K. including Bolsover Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Scarborough Castle, Farleigh Castle, Carlisle Castle

Many of Britain’s most prestigious castles are hosting Halloween events over the Halloween season. These castles will be putting on events such as Victorian ghost stories and a tour of the Haunted Castle. You might even encounter a poltergeist or two! Check out www.english-heritage.org.uk to find out more about these fantastic events.

The Museum of Witchcraft

Boscastle, Cornwall

The Museum of Witchcraft has been a fixture of Cornwall for forty years. It is home to the world’s largest collection of the weird and wonderful world of witchcraft, including many bizarre objects and artefacts that will fascinate you.

Expect to see crystal balls and broomsticks aplenty! The Museum displays a history of witchcraft, showing how the concept of magic has developed over time and how people regarded as witches were treated over the ages.

We bet you already knew that a horseshoe is seen as a lucky object but did you know that mirrors positioned by doors are supposed to keep bad things away? The museum holds a wealth of other fascinating facts about magic, so if you’re superstitious about your bingo, it might well be worth a trip!

Tulleys October Fest

Tulleys Farm, West Sussex

The famous Tulleys October Fest is back again this year with more fun and frights than ever before. The yearly event runs from 24th October to 4th November and includes daily Halloween themed events and plenty of food to fill those rumbling tummies!

The event prides itself for having the best Halloween rides around, with the Horrid Hayride and Creepy Cottage being its most famous highlights. For younger children there are Spooky trails and the Boo Barn, so everyone is occupied. If you’ve got older children, you might want to go down to Tulleys at night, where the October fest transforms into the Shocktober fest, enter if you dare! Prepare to be scared out of your wits in the new Field of Screams!
