Top Easter Breaks

Easter comes early this year, but there's still time for you to plan some quality family time to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays. Good old Brits, we love our bingo and days out, so here's the Tea Break guide to having a 'clucking great' Easter with the family. After you've had a read, why not share your own Easter Break ideas with your bingo buddies in our chat rooms?

Here’s our top 5:

Camper Van Shenanigans in the Highlands

Ahh, the open road and some beautiful Scottish scenery! Get your best soft-rock driving tunes (Born To Be Wild is a favourite here at Littlewoods Bingo), pile the family in the back - oh, and don't forget those multi-packs of cereal, you know, the ones with mini-cornflakes! Much sturdier than a tent and more manoeuvrable a static caravan, the camper van lets you explore the bone white beaches and towering Highland summits. With the Easter holidays, you can tick off Skye, Cape Wrath and John O'Groats in less than a week, ensuring no-one gets bored.

The one down side - a distinct lack of wireless internet access should you feel the need for some online bingo action!

If you're an inexperienced camper-vanner, Campers Scotland will give you all the info you'll need and even let you hire a rugged 4 wheel-drive Mazda Bongo! Visit the Campers Scotland website for more information.

Like a Duck to Water...Denbighshire

Another great British pastime, navigating the canals on a relaxing break through the countryside, is a great way to spend time with the family and escape the madness of modern life. Turn the clocks back with lazy days lunching in the riverside pubs, picnics, spectacular walks and treks, and of course, getting through the locks unscathed.

Trundling along at a maximum of 4mph, it will certainly be a change for most people, but a gentle week on the Llangollen canal could be just what the doctor ordered. There are certainly some spectacular sites to behold - including the 120ft-high Pontcysyllte aqueduct, 42 locks and the 1,377ft Chirk tunnel.

Check out Canal Holidays for a wide range of UK (and even some European) canal breaks.

Thank Haven for that...Northumberland

If you fancy being beside the sea this Easter, fret not bingo buddies, Haven Holidays (remember them) are still alive and kicking. With 35 UK coastal locations you can stay in a range of different accommodation including caravans, apartments, chalets and even yurts (kind of like a round hut).

There's plenty to do, especially for the kids. So you can be certain they are having a whale of a time playing football, fencing, abseiling, and splashing around in aqua parks. In the meantime, you can get some well deserved rest. All activities are supervised, and if you fancy a bit of vibrancy yourself, the evening entertainment programmes and spas are certain to hit the spot.

What's more, there's usually a reduction of up to 20% during the Easter holidays, and dogs are welcome too. Check out Haven Holidays for more information.

Get Your Wellies on in North Devon

Lambs are cute aren't they? And we hear on the grapevine that they like nothing more than being cuddling by kids over the Easter break. There are plenty of farms open to the public in Devon, but Torridge House Farm Cottages in Little Torrington is a little different. It's a cut above the traditional petting zoo, where visitors become fully-fledged farm helpers, feeding the lambs up to four times a day.

The downside, a spot of mucking out, but if you love animals and the farm life, you'll feel right at home. It's not just for lamb lovers either - you can also look after ducks, rabbits, pigs, mice and guinea pigs. The surroundings are idyllic and the kids will go bananas for it!

The Learning Never Stops in Yorkshire

Want to keep your kids' brains active in between the cartoons, chocolate eggs and baby chicks? Well these educational trips from the Field Studies Council are both informative and fun. With 17 centres around the UK, there's bound to be one near you.

You'll explore the local landscape and wildlife; even get to go caving at the National Trust's Malham Tarn in the Yorkshire Dales. In between the adventuring you'll also learn about the natural history of this famous patch of UK countryside.

Visit the Field Studies Council website for more information on the sites near you.

Hopefully that's given you some ideas for the Easter holidays. Whatever you choose to do we are sure you'll have a great time.
