Of course you need to remember to let him foot the bill, while you busy yourself with some online bingo action. How subtle!
Gravetye Manor, Sussex
If you plan on staying close to home, Gravetye Manor (which celebrates its 50th year as a hotel this May) is a beautiful building over 400 years old. Full of old-world charm and warmth, they don’t make English country manors like the Gravetye anymore.
Despite being only eight miles from Gatwick, you’ll not hear any passing planes of cars as the manor is set in 1,000 acres of forest and landscaped gardens. Add to that an oak-panelled, Michelin-starred restaurant, and you get the impression that some Sense and Sensibility romance will definitely be on the cards!
For more information visit the Gravetye Manor website.
The Five, Paris
Yes it might seem obvious, but Paris really is the lover’s city. With the wonders of modern technology, you could board the Eurostar train and be in Paris in a little over 2 hours. The Five is a new hotel where intimacy is practically encouraged. All the rooms are small, boutique and lovely, so there’s no hiding place!
If you’re after a totally new experience, room 603 has a swinging bed suspended from the ceiling by cables, a Jacuzzi and roof terrace! If that’s not enough bingo buddies, a number of other suites, called ‘scintillating rooms’ have fibre-optic canopies (that’s fancy lights to you and me) to recreate the feeling of sleeping under the stars.
If Paris is your romantic destination of choice, visit the Five Hotel website for more information.
The Dominican, Brussels
This ‘designer’ hotel in Brussels was built on the site of a former monetary and is now causing quite a stir thanks to its opulent decor. Situated near the Theatre la Monnaie, you’ll find all sorts of luvvies residing in the bar and restaurant. They will surely be a great inspiration from for a bingo love poem.
This chic little hotel is perfect for the couple looking for culture and romance. Our pick of the rooms is the Grand Suite, which has views of the rather appropriately named Grand Place market square.
If the Dominican has set your pulses racing, find out more from the hotel website.
Tigerlily, Edinburgh
For those fun-loving young couples the Tigerlily is the perfect retreat. The hotel has a multitude of ‘faces’ depending on your mood – from beautiful love-den, to funky bar, to award-winning restaurant and cool as ice nightclub.
Thankfully it does all four better than most. With rooms that straddle somewhere between majestic and light-hearted, you’ll find iPod equipped rooms complimenting huge chandeliers and orange and pink carpets. For the cocktail lovers, the bar cocktail list is as thick as the bible. One our favourite touches is the real flame fires (activated at the flick of a switch) perfect for those cosy nights.
For more information, visit the TIgerlily Hotel website.
Old Quay House, Fowey, Cornwall
Lovely Cornwall – a favourite holiday destination for many of us here at Littlewoods Bingo! The Old Quay House has been recently refurbished and revamped, so it’s now the ultimate seaside retreat. Worth noting are possibly the widest beds in the UK – they are seriously huge!
The rooms are all decorated with a kind of ‘plundered luxury’ – sky blue walls and contemporary furniture that blends in well. True love is sure to rear its pretty head if you eat on the terrace overlooking the Fowey estuary – just pray for nice weather!
More information on the Old Quay House can be found on their website.
