The X Factor - Where Are They Now?

Can you believe it bingo buddies? The X Factor’s back on our screens again! Pop Idol and The X Factor have had their success stories, namely Will Young and the global sensation Leona Lewis, but some of the other contestants haven’t fared so well. Here at Littlewoods Bingo we’ve been delving into a bunch of the contestants lives after X Factor and trust us, it’s not always pretty...

Chico

Who could forget the cheeky goat herder/exotic dancer who won the hearts of the nation and nearly frazzled himself by jumping in the Osbourne’s pool with a live microphone? Well if Chico was starting to become a distant memory, he’s doing everything he can to crawl his way back in. He enjoyed fleeting success in the charts with a gimmick number 1 hit: ‘It’s Chico Time’ knocking Madonna off the top spot. Now, you’ll see him on various other reality shows such as Celeb Air but his permanent fixture for the time being at least is on holiday camps, if you’re lucky you’ll catch him in Panto at Christmas!

Andy Abraham

Pipped to the post by Shayne Ward in the final of series 2, the ex bin man went on to release an album of covers and enjoy moderate success in the charts. Most recently, you may have seen him representing England at the Eurovision song contest who maintained our excellent track record of coming last in the competition.

Steve Brookstein

The housewives favourite ran away with the title of The X Factor in its first series. Despite an initial surge of support for the crooner, he was fated to be a one hit wonder and was dropped by record label Sony BMG after only 8 months of winning The X Factor. This came after Steve rejected recording a second album of covers, instead wanting to pen his own songs. His personal efforts to resuscitate his career have been largely unsuccessful and he too has been relegated to the holiday camps and ferries.

Nikki Evans

Here at bingo HQ, we got a bit tired of last year’s contestant Nikki, crying every week. But it seems she’s crying no more! After she was booted off the show she decided to have a liposuction procedure and dropped two dress sizes. Her career in music led her to a brief stint in the musical Blood Brothers and the release of a download only track but otherwise, it’s all a bit quiet for the woman with the big voice.

G4

The classical quartet was a welcome change from the pop artists we usually see on The X Factor. Their initial success saw them sell out two UK tours and sell 1.2 million records worldwide in just twelve months. It seemed to be a success that was against all odds, considering the dwindling careers of previous contestants. That success quickly disappeared, however, when the band announced they were splitting amidst rumours that they literally couldn’t stand each other. They are said to be pursuing solo careers but you know what that means...
